Top Ten Experiences

For this exercise, you will compile some information about peak positive experiences you have had in your life.

PLEASE NOTE: These should be positive experiences you have had that you would like to repeat as opposed to negative experiences that impacted your life but were painful and you would not like to repeat.

This process will help you understand and identify the types of experiences you need to have in your life periodically in order to feel engaged, satisfied, energized and positive.

 

Top Ten experiences typically fall into three categories:

1. Events or points in time such as graduations, weddings, births, awards, promotions, etc.

2. Periods of time such as summers at the beach, college years, time at a workplace, etc.

3. Things you really enjoy doing such as walking near the ocean, reading, drinking tea, roller-blading, etc.

1. Please list ONE Top Ten Experience in each box below.

     For example:

     ICE SKATING WITH MY GRANDMOTHER

2. Then write out why it is important to you, use short phrases or statements to describe it. Think a tweet not a novel. There may be several short phrases or statements. Continue to ask yourself why it was important to you until you have written all of them.

     For example:

      FUN! FELT TAKEN CARE OF; LOVED TO HAVE HER WATCH ME
